Abstract: The present invention provides a method for increasing productivity of a plant by spraying Pink Pigmented Facultative Methylotroph (PPFM) on a plant. The invention also relates to increasing productivity of a plant under stress by applying Pink Pigmented Facultative Methylotroph (PPFM) to a plant and subsequently applying an aqueous solution containing methanol to the plant.

Patent
Active substances for increasing the stress defense in plants to abiotic stress, and methods of finding them
Arno Schulz,Klaus Bartsch,Hansjoerg Kraehmer,Martin Hills,Erwin Hacker,Chris Rosinger +5 more
- 30 Jun 2010
TL;DR: In this article, a method of finding compounds which increase the tolerance of plants to abiotic stress factors acting on this plant, such as, for example, temperature (such as chill, frost or heat), water ( such as dryness, drought or anoxia), or the chemical load, by increasing the expression of plant-endogenous proteins, and the use of these compounds for increasing the tolerance in plants to these stress factors was proposed.

Microbial fermentation methods and compositions
Gregg Bogosian
- 31 May 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, the Methylobacterium genus of bacteria is used for the efficient and inexpensive cultivation of these bacteria. And the method provides methods for the utilization of these bacterial cultures to improve plant agriculture.

Method for altering the metabolism of plant
Mark A. Holland,Joseph C. Polacco +1 more
- 07 Apr 2000
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of altering the metabolism of a plant by carrying out the steps of treating seeds of the plant with non-genetically engineered selected mutant pink-pigmented facultative methylotroph having a plant altering capability, and growing the plants from the treated seeds, wherein the plants that grow from such treated seeds exhibit an altered characteristic relative to non-treated plants.

Increase of stress tolerance by application of neonicotinoids on plants engineered to be stress tolerant
Wolfgang Thielert,Michael Metzlaff,Marc De Block +2 more
- 26 May 2006
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present methods for increasing the stress tolerance in plants and plant cells whereby neonicotinoid compounds, such as clothianidin, thiamethoxam, dinotefuran, nitenpyram, acetamiprid or thiacloprid, are applied to plants, or cells thereof, which comprise a genome that has been modified to make the plants or their cells more stress tolerant.

Leaf methanol — the simplest natural product from plants
Ray Fall,Andrew A. Benson +1 more
TL;DR: Application of methanol to leaves enhances the growth and yield of C 3 plants, although the mechanism responsible for this phenomenon is uncertain.

Urease-Null and Hydrogenase-Null Phenotypes of a Phylloplane Bacterium Reveal Altered Nickel Metabolism in Two Soybean Mutants
TL;DR: It is inferred that mutations at either of two genetic loci (Eu2 or Eu3) result in defects in nickel metabolism but not in Ni(2+) uptake or transport, because eu2/eu2 and eu3-e1/eu3- e1 mutants exhibit normal uptake of (63)NiCl(2).

Methods and compositions for enhancing carbon fixation in plants.
Arthur M. Nonomura,Andrew A. Benson +1 more
- 14 Jun 1993
TL;DR: In this article, plant growth stimulants containing compounds which increase intracellular carbon dioxide as the main active component and optionally supplemented with specific nutrients have been found to enhance productivity of plants.

Genetic tests of the roles of the embryonic ureases of soybean.
TL;DR: The evidence is consistent with the lack of a role in urea hydrolysis for the embryo-specific urease in developing embryos or germinating seeds.
