Abstract: The invention provides a method and a device for flow control The method comprises that data messages of users are obtained by a gateway; N value added services needed by the data messages are determined, wherein N is a positive integer larger than or equal to 1; a first IP address in the data messages is revised to an Mth IP address in an address sequence, and the first IP address is an IP address of a network server, wherein M is a positive integer larger than or equal to 1, the address sequence is an IP address set distributed to the users by the network, and there is a corresponding relation between the addresses in the address sequence and the value added services; the revised data messages are sent to a value added service server to which the Mth IP address corresponds, so the value added service server to which the Mth IP address corresponds is allowed to carry out value added service processing for the revised data messages; and after the data messages going through the value added service processing are received, the first IP address is revised to the IP address of the network server
