Approximation Techniques for Incompressible Flows with Heterogeneous Properties
Salgado Gonzalez,Abner Jonatan +1 more
- 21 Oct 2011
TL;DR: A fractional time-stepping scheme which, as opposed to other existing techniques, requires only the solution of a Poisson equation for the determination of the pressure, greatly reduces the computational cost.

Free boundary problem for compressible flows with density--dependent viscosity coefficients
TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the free boundary problem of the spherical symmetric compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes system and obtained the global existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence on initial data.

On the Regularity of Solutions of the Compressible Isentropic Navier-Stokes Equations
Benoît Desjardins
- 01 Jan 1999
TL;DR: In this paper, the small time regularity of Navier-Stokes equations in dimension N = 2 or 3 under periodic boundary conditions was investigated and it was shown that weak solutions in T 2 remain smooth as long as the density is bounded in L ∞(T 2).

On some mathematical modelling of self‐field MPD thrusters
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the mathematical modeling of high-enthalpy compressible plasma flows of magnetoplasmadynamic (MPD) rocket thrusters and established transmission conditions for the coupled MPD model, which appeared as a byproduct of a detailed asymptotic analysis of the artificial interfaces that arise by domain decomposition.

Weak solutions for a bi-fluid model for a mixture of two compressible non interacting fluids with general boundary data
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors prove global existence of weak solutions for a version of one velocity Baer-Nunziato system with dissipation describing a mixture of two non interacting viscous compressible fluids in a piecewise regular Lipschitz domain with general inflow/outfow boundary conditions.
