Map data processor, and center system

TL;DR: In this paper, a map data processor is provided with a map-data storage, a differential data input means 102 for inputting a difference between data in the present time and a data in an up-to-date map stored in the map data storage, expressed by a script format, version by version, in order to solve the problem hereinbefore to be solved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the communication cost increases by the increase of differential data volume with respect to an original version accompanying the delay of updating timing when updated to an up-to-date map in the conventional on-vehicle navigation system. SOLUTION: This map data processor is provided with a map data storage means 101 for storing a map data, a differential data input means 102 for inputting a difference between a data in the present time and a data in the up-to-date map stored in the map data storage means as a differential data expressed by a script format, version by version, and a map data multiplex updating means 103 for updating the map data in the map data storage means to the up-to-date map data, using the differential data corresponding to the version, in order to solve the problem hereinbefore to be solved. The updating to the up-to-date map can thereby be executed by a small capacity of memory even when the version of the map data is progressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
