Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that is improved in selectivity of an emission wavelength region while effectively suppressing misalignment of the optical axis of exiting light. SOLUTION: The light source device 1 includes: a light source 3; a wavelength selecting element 7 selectively transmitting light in a predetermined wavelength range in the light L1 emitted from the light source 3; a polarization splitting element 8 splitting the light L2 transmitted by the wavelength selecting element 7 into polarized light components L3, L4 which are two linearly polarized light components with polarization directions orthogonal to each other; and band-pass filters 10a, 10b disposed to form predetermined angle ranges with the optical axes of the respective polarized light components L3, L4 and configured to give different transmissive wavelength regions of the polarized light components L3, L4 in accordance with the respective angle ranges. The wavelength selecting element 7 transmits the light including at least the transmissive wavelength regions of the band-pass filters 10a, 10b with respect to the predetermined angle ranges, toward the polarization splitting element 8. TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed to obtain the optical filter which has high diffraction efficiency over a wide wavelength range irrelevantly to the polarization state of incident light by arranging 1st and 2nd reflecting mirrors so that each reflected light beam is incident at right angles to a 2nd polarizer.
