Effect of diltiazem on silent ischemic episodes, plasma bradykinin and prostaglandin metabolism
Bonpei Takase,Akira Kurita,Akimi Uehata,Toshihiko Nisioka,Toshiharu Maruyama,Hirokazu Nagayoshi,Hiroko Sugahara,Kyoichi Mizuno,Haruo Nakamura,Tadashi Kodaira +9 more
TL;DR: Diltiazem did not appreciably improve either the frequency of silent myocardial ischemic episodes or the total duration of the silent my Cardiac Arrest-like episodes, and silent and symptomatic ischemia may be associated with different bradykinin and prostaglandin responses.

First-in-Human Drug-Eluting Balloon Treatment of Vulnerable Lipid-Rich Plaques: Rationale and Design of the DEBuT-LRP Study
A Van Veelen,I. T. Küçük,Federico H. Fuentes,Yirga Kahsay,Hector M. Garcia-Garcia,Ronak Delewi,Marcel A.M. Beijk,Alexander W. den Hartog,Maik J. Grundeken,Marije M. Vis,José P. S. Henriques,Bimmer E. Claessen +11 more
TL;DR: This first-in-human study will investigate the safety and feasibility of targeted pre-emptive PE-DCB treatment of LRPs to promote stabilization of vulnerable coronary plaque at risk for developing future adverse events.

Functional Evaluation of Lipid-Lowering Therapy by Pravastatin
TL;DR: This is the first placebo-controlled trial in patients with stable coronary artery disease, which describes not solely antiischemic properties of LDL-cholesterol reduction as other clinical studies have done previously but also supplies evidence for relative antianginal properties when compared to the natural course of the disease over a period of 2 years.

Long-term outcome in patients with unstable angina treated by coronary balloon angioplasty
Tadeusz Przewłocki,Piotr Pieniazek,Wiesława Tracz,Wojciech Ryniewicz,Magdalena Kostkiewicz,Maria Olszowska,Piotr Podolec,Andrzej Sokołowski +7 more
TL;DR: The uni- and multivariate analysis proved that unstable angina was an independent risk factor in restenosis, re-intervention and cardiac events rate, despite perceptible differences in the baseline characteristics.

- 28 Oct 2003
TL;DR: Patients surviving non-ST-segment-elevation acute coronary syndrome constitute a group of high coronary risk and sudden death risk and are therefore in particular need of adequate and proper rehabilitation and secondary prevention including physical training, which improved the clinical course of the disease.
