An Analysis of Managerial Helping Responses Based on Social Role Theory
TL;DR: The authors found that women managers tended to use significantly more gender-consistent helping behaviors, such as understanding, and less masculine-related behaviors such as evaluating, than their male counterparts, suggesting that the managerial role plays a greater part in shaping helping behavior.

TL;DR: In this paper, the flexibility of leader behavior was studied and it was found that leader behavior as measured by Bales Interaction Process Analysis changed as the group performed different tasks and there were no behavior differences as a function of leader's race although an interaction was found in the directive categories between task and dyad composition.
