Efficient Numerical Methods for Nonlinear MPC and Moving Horizon Estimation
TL;DR: In this article, numerical methods for solving real-time optimization problems in nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) and moving horizon estimation (MHE) have been reviewed, focusing exclusively on a discrete time setting.
'Coarse' integration/bifurcation analysis via microscopic simulators: Micro-Galerkin methods
TL;DR: A time-stepper based approach to the ‘coarse’ integration and stability/bifurcation analysis of distributed reacting system models that can circumvent the derivation of accurate, closed form, macroscopic PDE descriptions of the system.

- 01 Jan 2000
TL;DR: The direct multiple shooting method has long been known as a fast off-line optimization method in ODE and DAE (e.g. [B81,BP84,P81]).

On weighted total least-squares for geodetic transformations
TL;DR: In this article, it is proved that the weighted total least squares (WTLS) approach preserves the structure of the coefficient matrix in errors-in-variables (EIV) model when based on the perfect description of the dispersion matrix.

Hydrodynamic and aerosol modelling of the rapid expansion of supercritical solutions (RESS-process)
TL;DR: In this paper, the rapid expansion of a supercritical solution (RESS-process) is modelled numerically to better understand the mechanisms of particle formation and growth, and a model is presented which includes the expansion process inside the capillary nozzle as well as the postexpansion process with particle growth inside the expansion chamber.
