Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct an error in key input by using information regarding the arrangement of a keyboard and a history of key input. CONSTITUTION:A character is inputted from the keyboard 101 and an input history part 104 stores the history of key input from the keyboard 101; and a condition table storage part 105 stores a condition record consisting of conditions regarding the input character and input history and a character to be outputted when the conditions are met and a decision control part 106 decides a character for outputting a character that the person who has done the key input intends as much as possible even if the key input is wrong by using the character inputted from the keyboard 101, the contents of the input history storage part 104, and the contents of the condition table storage part 105. Then an output part 103 outputs the character that the decision control part 106 decides.

TL;DR: In this article, a character input support device which supports a user to input a character comprises: an input unit 11 for accepting a user's character input of a user through a touch panel display; a detection unit 17 for comparing pattern information showing a tendency of user operation which has been previously acquired with the input character and detecting a wrong input of the user; and a teaching unit 19 and an absorption unit 21 for, when the wrong input is detected, estimating at least one correct input on the basis of the detected wrong input and the pattern information and outputting an estimation result.
