TL;DR: Shirkov as discussed by the authors gave a dierent perspective on the ordinary quantum theory of a single spinless, positive msss-m particle on Rd−1, and investigated a special case that relates to the Gaussian path integral and the free quantum eld.

The quantum theory that one nds agrees with the usual picture of canonical quantization that one learns in standard eld theory. The quantum theory also comes with a representation of the inhomogeneous Lorentz group (the Poincar ́e group) that arises from an analytic continuation of the quantization of the Euclidean group. Thus the two fundamental points of view mesh to one. We rst investigate a special case that relates to the Gaussian path integral and the free quantum eld. We then give the general construction that applies for bosonic non-linear elds. Introduction to Quantum Field Theory. 24 ... In this chapter we give a dierent perspective on the ordinary quantum theory of a single spinless, positive msss-m particle on Rd−1. In this edition we have rewritten the chapters that discuss the methods of continuous integration and the renormalization group, which are two topics in theory that have become extremely important in recent years. We have also reworked and supplemented the sections on the complete Green functions. This work was done in an atmosphere of friendly advice and fruitful discussions with our colleagues from the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences and of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute of Nuclear Studies, to whom we are extremely grateful. Dynamic mass generation and renormalizations in quantum field theories
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that dynamic mass generation can destroy the multiplicative renormalization relations and lead to a new type of divergences in the massive phase, and that the values of the bare coupling constants must be fixed.

Habilitationsschrift: Renormalization and Knot Theory
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate to what extent renormalization can be understood as an algebraic manipulation on concatenated one-loop integrals and find that the resulting algebra indicates a useful connection to knot theory as well as number theory.

Towards relativistic atomic physics. Part 1. The rest-frame instant form of dynamics and a canonical transformation for a system of charged particles plus the electro-magnetic field
David AlbaD. Alba,David AlbaD. Alba,Horace W. CraterH.W. Crater,Horace W. CraterH.W. Crater,Luca Lusanna,Luca Lusanna +5 more
TL;DR: A complete exposition of the rest-frame instant form of dynamics for arbitrary isolated systems (particles, fields, strings, fluids) admitting a Lagrangian description is given in this paper.

Coulomb corrections to $e^+ e^-$ production in ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the two approaches are in fact calculating different observables: the perturbative approach gives the exclusive cross-section of single pair production, while the other method gives the inclusive cross-sectional.

Optical properties of one-dimensional exciton systems: Beyond the Heitler-London approximation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the properties of one-dimensional exciton systems in which the commonly made Heitler-London approximation (HLA) is relaxed, and they found that for these systems the strongest effects of the HLA occur in the oscillator strengths of the various optical transitions.
