On the Regularity of Petri Net Languages
TL;DR: This paper analyzes the complexity of theregularity problem (i.e., the problem of determining whether a given Petri net defines an irregular language or not) for a variety of classes of Petri nets, including conflict-free, trap-circuit, normal, sinkless, extended trap- Circuits, BPP, and general Petrinets, and develops adecomposition approach.

On partially blind multihead finite automata
Oscar H. Ibarra,Bala Ravikumar +1 more
TL;DR: This work is concerned with 1-way multihead finite automata, both deterministic and nondeterministic, in which the symbol under only one head controls its move, and calls such a FA a partially blind multihead FA.

History-dependent Petri nets
Kees M. van Hee,Alexander Serebrenik,Natalia Sidorova,Wil M. P. van der Aalst +3 more
- 25 Jun 2007
TL;DR: It is shown that some classes of history-dependent nets can be automatically converted to classical Petri nets for analysis purposes and some classes are characterized by the form of the guards and sometimes the additional requirement that the underlying Classical Petri net is either bounded or has finite synchronization distances.
A Locally Optimal Algorithm for Estimating a Generating Partition from an Observed Time Series and Its Application to Anomaly Detection.
TL;DR: This work applies iterative nearest-neighbor symbol assignments with guaranteed discrepancy descent, by which joint, locally optimal symbolization of the entire time series is achieved.
