Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs in secret pattern matching.SOLUTION: A method according to the present invention includes the steps of: receiving, from another computer, an encrypted first polynomial equation obtained by encrypting a first polynomial equation represented by using elements of a first binary vector V1 generated from first data as coefficients in a first order, which is either descending order or ascending order regarding the degree, by a homomorphic encryption scheme capable of polynomial equation calculation; performing prescribed calculation in a cypher text space by use of an encrypted second polynomial equation obtained by encrypting a second polynomial equation represented by using elements of a second binary vector V2 generated from second data as coefficients in a second order different from the first order, by the homomorphic encryption scheme, and the encrypted first polynomial equation; and transmitting the result of the prescribed calculation to the other computer. The prescribed calculation is defined such that a coefficient of each term of a third polynomial equation obtained by decrypting the result of the prescribed calculation represents distance at each contrast position of the V1 to the V2.
