Improvements in push button electrical switches

Abstract: An electrical socket outlet switch assembly (10) for use in providing power to electrical devices includes push button electrical switches (50), each of which provide two states of electrical conductivity. The assembly (10) also includes a push button (14) for each switch (50), together with a switching mechanism (60) and an actuator (74) operably interconnecting the push button (14) and the switching mechanism. The actuator (74) includes a push button spring means (130), and the push button (14) has an outer surface which, when pushed by a user, compresses the push button spring means (130). This causes the push button (14) to move in a linear direction from a first extended position, where a first state of electrical conductivity is provided, to a second depressed position where the push button spring means (130) is optimally compressed. When the push button (14) is then released by a user, the push button spring means (130) is allowed to expand and move the push button (14) in a linear direction back to the first extended position, where a second state of electrical conductivity is provided. The assembly (10) also includes electrical sockets (11) to receive plugs from a device requiring electrical power.
