Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify the type of a processing target image by finding entropy of the image on an image processing device. SOLUTION: The image processing device is provided with an entropy identification processing part 5 which finds entropy of the processing target image, in which each pixel is represented by multi-valued data, and identifies the type of the processing target image based on that; and an image data processing part 6 which stores the processing target image that is identified to be a picture as image data, in which each pixel is represented by multi-valued data, and stores the processing target image that is identified not to be a picture as image data, in which each pixel is represented by binary data, based on the result of the identification.
