Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of generating an image keeping both of vertical transformation and parallel transformation.SOLUTION: An image processing device of an embodiment includes a plurality of imaging units and a calibration unit. The plurality of imaging units are arranged so that a base line vector connecting their optical centers and a normal vector to a plane are perpendicular to each other, and pick up images of overlapping regions. The calibration unit calibrates a plurality of picked up images so that the lens distortion of each of the plurality of images is corrected, and a plurality of calibration images in which corresponding positions in the images are horizontally aligned and are aligned with a surface vertical to the plane among the plurality of images are obtained.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a correction coordinate table to avoid a condition wherein correspondence between images of an identical object can not be obtained because of distortion of the images due to the distortion of an optical system such as a lens in the case where correspondence between the images imaged by right and left video cameras in a stereo camera device is obtained.
