Role of soil abiotic processes on phosphorus availability and plant responses with a focus on strigolactones in tomato plants
Veronica Santoro,Michela Schiavon,Luisella Celi +2 more
TL;DR: The range of abiotic processes that control P retention in soil and how different concentrations or degrees of P bioavailability can trigger various responses in plants are discussed, while critically highlighting the inconsistent conditions under which experiments evaluating aspects of P nutrition in plants have been conducted.

Phosphorus starvation response dynamics and management in plants for sustainable agriculture
TL;DR: In this article, a review of the challenges and environmental consequences of chemical phosphate (Pi)-intensive fertilization, followed by plants' response and adaptive strategies to Pi starvation is presented.

Characterization of invisible symptoms caused by early phosphorus deficiency in cucumber plants using near-infrared hyperspectral imaging technology.
TL;DR: In this article, NIR hyperspectral images of control leaves and P-deficient leaves were collected, and the feature information of the NIR HS images was extracted by PCA and ICA respectively.

Metabolic footprints in phosphate-starved plants
Abhishek RoyChowdhury,Rajat M Srivastava,Akash,Gyanesh Shukla,Grigor Zehirov,Kiril Mishev,Rahul Kumar +6 more
TL;DR: The metabolic footprinting of Pi-starved plants with respect to the benefits offered by such metabolic changes to intracellular Pi homeostasis is summarized.

Identification of phosphorus starvation inducible SnRK genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)
TL;DR: In this article, a genome-wide identification approach was used to identify 40 SnRK members in the tomato genome and multiple alignments and phylogenetic analysis grouped the identified genes into three sub-families: the sucrose non-fermenting 1-related protein kinases (snRKs), SnK1, SnRk2, and SnK3 subfamilies.

Analysis of relative gene expression data using real-time quantitative pcr and the 2(-delta delta c(t)) method
TL;DR: The 2-Delta Delta C(T) method as mentioned in this paper was proposed to analyze the relative changes in gene expression from real-time quantitative PCR experiments, and it has been shown to be useful in the analysis of realtime, quantitative PCR data.

MEGA6: Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis Version 6.0
TL;DR: An advanced version of the Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis software, which currently contains facilities for building sequence alignments, inferring phylogenetic histories, and conducting molecular evolutionary analysis, is released, which enables the inference of timetrees, as it implements the RelTime method for estimating divergence times for all branching points in a phylogeny.
Circos: An information aesthetic for comparative genomics
Martin Krzywinski,Jacqueline E. Schein,Inanc Birol,Joseph M. Connors,Randy D. Gascoyne,Doug Horsman,Steven J.M. Jones,Marco A. Marra +7 more
TL;DR: Circos uses a circular ideogram layout to facilitate the display of relationships between pairs of positions by the use of ribbons, which encode the position, size, and orientation of related genomic elements.
MapChart: Software for the Graphical Presentation of Linkage Maps and QTLs
TL;DR: MapChart is a software package that takes as input the linkage and QTL data and generates charts of linkage maps andQTLs and is exported as vector graphics rather than bitmaps, which makes them easy to rescale and to edit further if desired.
Assay of inorganic phosphate, total phosphate and phosphatase
TL;DR: The method is about seven times as sensitive as the Fiske–SubbaRow procedure and involves less pipetting, but it is not very satisfactory for determining inorganic phosphate if labile phosphate esters are present in large excess.
