N onn allY, this column presents critiques of research studies focused on effectiveness of interventions. Implications of their findings for occupational and environmental health nursing practice are then presented. However, this column is instead devoted to informing occupational and environmental health nurses about an under used resource, Healthy People 2010. Unfortunately, this valuable document is a well kept secret. Graduate students in our school of nursing usually indicate they have never heard of it. Yet it provides the basis for all health programs in the United States.

TL;DR: Pravastatin therapy reduced mortality from coronary heart disease and overall mortality, as compared with the rates in the placebo group, as well as the incidence of all prespecified cardiovascular events in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or unstable angina who had a broad range of initial cholesterol levels.
