Abstract: The DPWS implementation in Grafchart was tried out on a quality control station of SmartFactory’s SOA demonstrator, checking if bins have been filled with the correct number of pills. When a carrier arrives, one should check that there is a bin on it, if so the status of the bin should be read, and if it is ready for quality control then it should be executed. Not only was it possible to implement this using DPWS in Grafchart, but the application actually looks like one would model the process conceptually.

Implementation of Service Orchestrated control procedures in OPC UA for JGrafchart
Johan Hagsund
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate how services can be modelled using a new standard OPC UA for data exchange, and an experimental set-up is used to investigate how an OPCUA server and client are created.

Service-oriented Process Control with Grafchart and the Devices Profile for Web Services
TL;DR: Grafchart, a graphical language aimed for sequential control applications, can support the development of DPWS applications, and how Grafchart can be used for process modeling and execution in the planning and execution phase constitutes a unique framework for the development and execution of SOA applications.
