1. What is the core mission of Generation J?
The core mission of Generation J is to build an inclusive and empowering learning community for Jewish and non-Jewish youth worldwide. It aims to foster a sense of shared creation, learning, and celebration within the rich cultural tapestry of Jewish heritage. Generation J believes in the significance of Judaism for all youth, regardless of their background. The program encourages creativity and potential in every participant, allowing them to take on various roles such as artists, scholars, educators, and leaders. Generation J serves as a laboratory for participants to explore their community's concerns, cultural packages, dreams, doubts, and conflicts, transforming them into research questions and artistic or scholarly projects. It is a collaborative effort between the Other Music Academy/Yiddish Summer Weimar and the Yiddish Summer Weimar Foto, led by Shendl Copitman Kovnatskiy.
