Abstract: at the end of the semester, during the exam period (5/6-5/12) Homework: Homework assignments will be posted, with their due date. You may work together in completing the homework. However, each student must turn in his/her own weekly assignment. You are responsible for knowing what is in your homework papers. Handing in a paper containing someone else's work is a violation of the honor code. Attendance: Attendance at the lectures is expected, and participation is part of the grade. All these factors will be combined in the following proportion: 20% for the exam 20% for the final exam 50% for the total homework grade 10% for class participation Your final grade will be determined using the following scale: Total Score Final Grade 80% and above A 65%-79% B 55%-64% C 50%-54% D 49% and less F

Echoes from the abyss: Tentative evidence for Planck-scale structure at black hole horizons
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used 2-tailed Gaussian probability to assign a significance to a p-value, e.g., 0.68% and 95% correspond to 0.1% and 2.5% respectively.

Knowledge Discovery and interactive Data Mining in Bioinformatics - State-of-the-Art, future challenges and research directions
TL;DR: Computers are incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid; human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate, and brilliant.
The Role of the Pauli-Lubanski Vector for the Dirac, Weyl, Proca, Maxwell, and Fierz-Pauli Equations
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyze basic relativistic wave equations for the classical fields, such as Dirac's equation, Weyl's two-component equation for massless neutrinos, and the Proca, Maxwell, and Fierz-Pauli equations, from the viewpoint of the Pauli-Lubanski vector and the Casimir operators of the Poincare group.

On Dimensional Analysis, Redundancy in set of fundamental quantities and Proposal of a New Set
TL;DR: This paper is an attempt to eliminate the redundancy in the SI system using random mathematical mappings done through a computer program on SI system to New System, and describes the intuitive reasons favoring the new fundamental set of quantities.

Relativistic mass and modern physics
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore how the concept of mass is introduced in modern physics and reveal a deep cohomological origin of mass, and demonstrate an abyss between the modern approach and archaic notions.
