TL;DR: It was observed that the fruit quality of Maxi Gala cultivar measured by firmness, oBrix, diameter and weight are not influenced by the rootstocks evaluated, and the rootstock G.213 is more productive and stable over the years, providing greater productive efficiency in Maxi Gale than M.9.

Geneva® Series Rootstocks for Apple Trees Under Extreme Replanting Conditions in Southern Brazil.
Leo Rufato,Pricila Santos da Silva,Aike Anneliese Kretzschmar,Amauri Bogo,Tiago Afonso de Macedo,Juliana Fátima Welter,Gennaro Fazio,Daiana Petry +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of apple tree cultivars grafted on the Geneva® rootstocks in severe replant disease areas, by planting 60 days after the eradication, was evaluated.
Effect of solution pH on root architecture of four apple rootstocks grown in an aeroponics nutrient misting system
Ali Al Farqani,Lailiang Cheng,T.L. Robinson,Gennaro Fazio +3 more
TL;DR: The solution pH significantly affects root architecture parameters and nutrient availability for apple rootstocks in an aeroponics system.
Horticultural performance of ‘Fuji Suprema’ and ‘Maxi Gala’ apple trees trained at Tall Spindle and Bi-Axis systems grafted on different rootstocks in Southern Brazil
Leo Rufato,Juliana Fátima Welter Woitexen,Alberto Ramos Luz,Pricila Santos da Silva,Tiago Afonso de Macedo,Marilia Feliciano Goulart Pereira,Augusto Schütz Ferreira,Aike Anneliese Kretzschmar +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a randomized block design consisting of a 2x2 factorial was used to evaluate the behavior of "Fuji Suprema" and "Maxi Gala" apple trees in two training systems grafted on two rootstocks.

TL;DR: X-ray microtomography demonstrated that maize roots elongated more rapidly with increasing root-soil contact, as long as mechanical impedance was not limiting root elongation, while lupin was less sensitive to changes in root- soil contact.
Biennial bearing in apple and pear: A literature survey
TL;DR: The best prospects are for the use of growth regulators which can promote fruit bud formation in an “on-year” and reduce it in an "off-year" as well as after thinning of an excess of fruits or even when no thinning has taken place.

TL;DR: In 2006, two 1-ha orchard trials were established at each of two sites (Dressel farm in Southeastern New York State and VandeWalle farm in Western New York state) to compare seven Geneva® rootstocks (CG.4210, CG.41, G.16, GG.41 and G.935) with one Budagovsky rootstock and three Malling rootstock (M.7) as controls as discussed by the authors.
