Analysis and numerical simulation of chaotic advection and chemical diffusion during magma mixing: petrological implications
Diego Perugini,Giampiero Poli +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the interplay between chemical diffusion and the dynamics of the mixing process is studied with the aim of understanding the geometrical structures generated by magma mixing in a lava flow, and it is shown that elements with similar values of diffusion coefficients display linear correlations in interelemental plots whereas elements with different diffusion coefficients do not show any correlation.

Automated Method for Tracking Individual Red Blood Cells Within Capillaries to Compute Velocity and Oxygen Saturation
TL;DR: A new method using a recently developed Measurement and Analysis System for Capillary Oxygen Transport and the concept of space–time images to track RBCs between consecutive frames of video recordings of the microcirculation is presented.

Toward a better understanding of texture in vascular CT scan simulated images
TL;DR: The influence of computed tomography slice thickness on textural parameters is shown by simulating realistic images issued from a 3D model of vascular tree, with structural and functional features and in which angiogenesis is related to the organ growth.

Fractal dimensional classification of aerosol particles by computer-controlled scanning electron microscopy.
TL;DR: It is shown that spherically shaped particles that normally compose the majority of the fly ash particles do not possess fractality, and it is found that the soil dust particles have only a textural fractal dimension.

Linear prediction: A tutorial review
John Makhoul
- 01 Apr 1975
TL;DR: This paper gives an exposition of linear prediction in the analysis of discrete signals as a linear combination of its past values and present and past values of a hypothetical input to a system whose output is the given signal.
