Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a frame transfer device capable of dealing with an increase in the number of interfaces and the acceleration of a line interface speed and performing quick and stable frame transfer. SOLUTION: A line interface has a first learning means for learning the transmission source address of a MAC (media access control) frame transferred from a switch part and transmission source line interface information and a means for retrieving the first learning means by the destination address of a MAC frame received from the outside, and attaching a transmission source line interface information of an address and self-line interface information to the MAC frame received as destination line interface information to transmit the MAC frame to the switch part when the address is present. The switch part has a means for transferring the MAC frame to a plurality of line interfaces on the basis of the attached destination line interface information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
