Abstract: We describe the design, construction, and operation of a new type of microwave spectrograph which allows the measurement of the resonant transitions of transient or otherwise short‐lived species. The spectrograph is composed of three parts: a Fabry–Perot cavity, a pulsed supersonic nozzle as a source for the sample, and the pulsed microwave Fourier transform method. Following a detailed discussion of the three above components in the spectrograph, the operation of the entire system is described and several examples are given.

Halogen bonding in the gas phase: a comparison of the iodine bond in B⋯ICl and B⋯ICF3 for simple Lewis Bases B.
TL;DR: The B⋯ICF3 obey a set of rules which were originally proposed to rationalise the angular geometries of hydrogen-bonded complexes of the type B ⋯HX, but which were subsequently found to apply to their halogen-bonding analogues B⊂XY, where XY is a dihalogen molecule, including ICl.
The structure of CO–OCS: a spectroscopic and theoretical investigation
TL;DR: In this article, the spectrum of the weakly bound complex CO-OCS has been measured in the infrared using direct absorption diode laser spectroscopy in a supersonic jet, and in the microwave region using a pulsed nozzle Fourier transform instrument.
