Evolution styles: Foundations and tool support for software architecture evolution
David Garlan,Jeffrey M. Barnes,Bradley Schmerl,Orieta Celiku +3 more
- 23 Oct 2009
TL;DR: What is meant by an evolution style is defined, and how it can be used to provide automated assistance for expressing architectural evolution, and for reasoning about both the correctness and quality of evolution paths is shown.
Evolution styles: foundations and models for software architecture evolution
TL;DR: This paper describes an approach for planning and reasoning about architecture evolution, and focuses on providing architects with the means to model prospective evolution paths and supporting analysis to select among these candidate paths.
Ævol: A tool for defining and planning architecture evolution
David Garlan,Bradley Schmerl +1 more
- 16 May 2009
TL;DR: A tool is demonstrated to enable architects to describe evolution paths, associate properties with elements of the paths, and perform tradeoff analysis over these paths.
Evolution Framework for Software Architecture using Graph Transformation Approach
Abdelkrim Amirat
- 11 Dec 2011
TL;DR: This paper focuses on the different dimensions of architecture evolution with an automated evolution process of software architecture using graph transformation using AToM 3 graph transformation tool.

Connectors conveying Software Architecture Evolution
Dalila Tamzalit,Nassima Sadou,Mourad Oussalah +2 more
- 24 Jul 2007
TL;DR: This paper highlights how connectors enhance component-based software architecture evolution, and proposes to characterize the connector concept with semantic properties, namely: exclusivity/sharing, dependency/ independency, predominance/non predominance, cardinality and reverse cardinality.
