Evaluation of fusion-evaporation cross-section calculations
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared five different fusion-evaporation cross sections from five different codes to experimental data and found reasonable agreement by using the geometrical average of the five model calculations and dividing the average by a factor of 11.2.

Abstract: Calculated fusion-evaporation cross sections from five different codes are compared to experimental data. The present comparison extents over a large range of nuclei and isotopic chains to investigate the evolution of experimental and calculated cross sections. All models more or less overestimate the experimental cross sections. We found reasonable agreement by using the geometrical average of the five model calculations and dividing the average by a factor of 11.2. More refined analyses are made for example for the 100Sn region.

TL;DR: The Advanced Gamma Tracking Array (AGATA) as discussed by the authors is a high-resolution γ-ray spectrometer, solely built from highly segmented high-purity Ge detectors, capable of measuring γ rays from a few tens of keV to beyond 10 MeV.
Beam-based scenario for Am 242 m isomer depletion via nuclear excitation by electron capture
J. Rzadkiewicz,Marek Polasik,Katarzyna Słabkowska,Ł. Syrocki,E. Wȩder,J. J. Carroll,C. J. Chiara +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the beam-target reaction cross sections have been calculated striving to ensure effective production of the $242m{Am}$ isomer for which the probability of the nuclear excitation by electron capture (NEEC) process is expected to be even higher than for the $93m{Mo} isomer.

TL;DR: In this article, an ECR booster is integrated in the SPIRAL 1 beam line to charge breed the beam of different 1+ sources, and the results obtained during the on-line commissioning period permit to evaluate intensities for new beams from the upgraded facility.

Isospin dependence in single-nucleon removal cross sections explained through valence-core destruction effects
M. Gómez-Ramos,J. Gómez‐Camacho,A. M. Moro +2 more
TL;DR: The isospin dependence in single-nucleon removal cross sections is explained through valence-core destruction effects. Core destruction significantly reduces the cross section for deeply bound nucleons, reducing the isospin dependence of the "quenching factors".
