Thermal Inactivation Studies with Different Strains of Poliovirus
TL;DR: Variations in the rate of destruction of infectivity at 50°C were demonstrated for strains representing the three immunologic types of poliovirus as well as for strains of the same type, consistent upon serial passage of the different virus lines.

Infectivity of RNA from Inactivated Poliovirus
TL;DR: The results of these experiments indicate that viral RNA is a primary target of UV and hypochlorite inactivations but that the sole target of thermal inactivation is the viral capsid.
