Extraction of Natural Dyes from Polygonum Odoratum Lour as an Alternative Dyeing for Thai Silk Using Diff erent Metal Salt Mordants
31 Jul 2023
TL;DR: In this article , the effect of different metal salt mordants and adding sequence mordant methods in the dyeing silk process was investigated and the meta-mordant technique was the most promising strategy because it gave stronger color strength, shortest drying time, and good fastness properties to the other methods.
Extraction, optimization and evaluation of turmeric root (Curcuma longan) dyeing conditions on cotton fabric
Peter Michael Dass
TL;DR: The extraction, optimization and evaluation of turmeric root dyeing conditions on cotton fabric aims to extract, purify, characterize, and optimize dyeing conditions on cotton fabric using turmeric root dye extract. The optimum dyeing conditions are 2.0 g/dm3 dye extract concentration, 60 minutes dyeing time, and 60°C dyeing temperature. The colour fastness of optimally dyed fabric to washing and rubbing exhibits a good fastness, which is highly acceptable.
