Does core stability exercise improve lumbopelvic stability (through endurance tests) more than general exercise in chronic low back pain? A quasi-randomized controlled trial
TL;DR: Comparing core stability and general exercises in chronic low back pain patients based on lumbopelvic stability assessment through three endurance core stability tests found CSE is not more effective than GE for improving endurance core Stability tests and reducing disability and pain in chronic non-specific LBP patients.

Developing a Reliable Core Stability Assessment Battery for Patients with Nonspecific Low Back Pain.
TL;DR: The results indicated that the partial curl-up test, side bridge and trunk flexor tests (endurance), sit-and-reach test (flexibility), single-legged hop, and lateral step-down (functional), unilateral stance test with eyes open (motor control) had very high intrarater reliability.

Core stability, knee muscle strength, and anterior translation are correlated with postural stability in anterior cruciate ligament-reconstructed patients.
TL;DR: Investigation in patients with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction found decreased core stability, decreased knee muscle strength, and increased knee laxity correlated with single-limb postural stability, and better hop performance was demonstrated with better knee flexor and extensor muscle strength and was independent from core stability.

A cross-sectional evaluation on physical fitness of Malaysian firefighters
C W Atikah,M Nihayah,J H Leonard,Bassam Omar,Noor Ibrahim,M K Zurkarnain,M Jamri,I Wan Mohd Noor +7 more
TL;DR: The needs to explore the issues behind low physical fitness among Malaysian firefighters and to find ways to improve them are suggested.
Core Stability and Electromyographic Activity of the Trunk Musculature in Different Woman’s Sports
Paula Esteban-García,Jacobo Á. Rubio-Arias,Javier Abián-Vicén,Jorge Sánchez-Infante,José Fernando Jiménez-Díaz +4 more
TL;DR: The volleyball players exhibited higher peak strength, despite the fact that the gymnasts showed greater muscle activity during the maximum voluntary contraction.

The efficacy of core stability assessment as a determiner of performance in dynamic balance and agility tests.
TL;DR: It is indicated that there is no significant relationship between tests that assess core stability and tests conducted to assess dynamic balance in active young adults and core stability is not a determinant of balance and agility.

Trainable Physical Variables as Determinants of Rock Climbing Performance
Shannon M. Kiehl
- 22 Feb 2017
TL;DR: Kiehl et al. as mentioned in this paper used a backward stepwise regression analysis to determine which trainable physical variables were the strongest predictors of rock climbing performance and found that upper-body endurance, body fat percentage, climbing volume, handgrip and pincer strength and endurance, upper body strength, lower-body strength and power, balance, hip flexibility, core endurance, and maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) correlated with climbing performance.
