TL;DR: EUS can be used to evaluate a variety of benign and malignant lesions of the stomach and duodenum. The majority of gastric malignancies are adenocarcinomas. The majority of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspirations of gastric lesions are diagnostic. EUS can also be used to diagnose and stage gastric cancer.
