Abstract: An apparatus for decoding data segments representing a time-domain data stream, a data segment being encoded in the time domain or in the frequency domain, a data segment being encoded in the frequency domain having successive blocks of data representing successive and overlapping blocks of time-domain data samples. The apparatus includes a time-domain decoder for decoding a data segment being encoded in the time domain and a processor for processing the data segment being encoded in the frequency domain and output data of the time-domain decoder to obtain overlapping time-domain data blocks. The apparatus further includes an overlap/add-combiner for combining the overlapping time-domain data blocks to obtain a decoded data segment of the time-domain data stream.

Analysis/Synthesis filter bank design based on time domain aliasing cancellation

TL;DR: A single-sideband analysis/synthesis system is proposed which provides perfect reconstruction of a signal from a set of critically sampled analysis signals and allows overlap between adjacent time windows, implying that time domain aliasing is introduced in the analysis; however, thisAliasing is cancelled in the synthesis process, and the system can provide perfect reconstruction.

Low bit rate transform coder, decoder and encoder/decoder for high-quality audio
TL;DR: In this article, a low bit-rate (192 kBits per second) transform encoder/decoder system (44.1 kHz or 48 kHz sampling rate) for high quality music applications employs short time-domain sample blocks (128 samples/block) so that the system signal propagation delay is short enough for real-time aural feedback to a human operator.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method that includes receiving an audio signal and initiating speech recognition tasks by a plurality of speech recognition systems (SRS's). But the method requires each SRS to generate a recognition result specifying possible speech included in the audio signal, and a confidence value indicating a confidence in a correctness of the speech result.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for low-frequency emphasizing the spectrum of a sound signal transformed in a frequency domain and comprising transform coefficients grouped in a number of blocks, in which a maximum energy for one block is calculated and a position index of the block with maximum energy is determined, a factor is calculated for each block having a position Index smaller than the position Index of the Block with maximum Energy, and for each blocks a gain is determined from the factor and is applied to the transform coefficients of the blocks.
