A numerical model for spacing selection of lamellar eutectics grown from flowing liquids
TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical model is established to describe lamellar eutectics grown from the liquid with transverse flow ahead of the liquid/solid interface, which is in good agreement with experimental observations.

Effect of rotating magnetic field on the solidification microstructures of Pb-Sn alloys
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the rotating magnetic field (RMF) on the solidification process of Pb-Sn binary alloys was studied by comparing the microstructures under the common condition and RMF condition.

Effect of Rotating Magnetic Field on the Solidification Microstructures of Bi-In Alloys
Hong Zhen-yu
- 01 Jan 2007
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the common condition and rotating magnetic field (RMF) condition on the solidification microstructure of Bi-In alloys was studied and experiment results indicate that RMF can improve micrastructures of Bi63% and Bi-69% in hypoeutectic alloys and increase cooling velocity distinctly.

The Effects of Electromagnetic Stirring on Solidification Structure and Macrosegregation of Pb-Sn Alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different electromagnetic field and technological parameters on the microstructure and composition segregation of Pb-80%Sn alloy were studied, and the results showed that both rotating and spiral magnetic field can improve the composition segregation and refine grains of alloy.

Effect of forced convection on eutectic growth
J.M. Quenisset,R. Naslain +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of convective flow on the directional solifdification of eutectic alloys has been studied, assuming a laminar stationary flow parallel to the growth interface within the liquid boundary layer where the solidification takes place.
