TL;DR: In this article, the fermion mass hierarchy problem is presented in the context of supersymmetric vector-like theories as well as within effective gauge theories with Yukawa interactions between Higgs-like scalars and chiral fermions.

Abstract: The fermion mass hierarchy problem is presented in the context of supersymmetric vector-like theories as well as within effective gauge theories with Yukawa interactions between Higgs-like scalars and chiral fermions. We present the results for the latter theories from the point of view of Higgs mechanism as well as from that of dynamical symmetry breaking through formation of two-body condensates. 19 refs.

A Model for Family Replication and a Mechanism for Mass Hierarchy
TL;DR: In this article, a flavon-chromon preon model with metacolor and hypercolor gauge forces was proposed, which exhibits two desirable features: (a) a mechanism for family replication, and (b) a new mechanism for interfamily mass hierarchy.
