Peptide scaffold conjugates as protein mimics for phosphate recognition
Yara Ruiz García
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: A unique synthetic model of the GCN4 bZIP TF which features sequence specific dsDNA binding properties as well as enhanced celluptake through active diffusion and a first attempt to understand how mimics of a protein behave in cellulo is presented.

DNA cleavage promoted by 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diazadecane-2,9-dithiol (DDD) derivatives.
TL;DR: Three piperidine derivatives of 2, 9-dimethyl-4,7-diazadecane-2,9-dithiol (DDD), NEPDDD, NEMPD DD, and NEMMPDDD were synthesized and used as catalysts in DNA cleavage, suggesting that the plasmid DNA (pUC 19) can be cleaved efficiently by these ligands.

Artificial Metalloproteases and Metallonucleases
J. Suh
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: Effective artificial proteases and artificial metallonucleases were synthesized by combining the catalytic metal centers with organic moieties recognizing the substrate structures.

Mixed ligand copper(II) complexes: Synthesis, characterization and DNA cleavage activities
TL;DR: In this article, three mixed ligand mononuclear copper(II) complexes with tridentate unsymmetrical and bidentate symmetrical ligands were synthesized, and the synthesized complexes were characterized using various physicochemical techniques like cyclic voltammetry and elemental analysis.

Dimethyl phosphate hydrolysis at neutral pH
Jung Hee Kim,Jik Chin +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the mechanism for 1-promoted hydrolysis of dimethyl phosphate involves joint Lewis acid activation and metal hydroxide activation, and the reaction solution is heated to 100 o C for 1 month (tetren: tetraethylenepentamine).

Nonenzymic cleavage and ligation of DNA at a three A.cntdot.T base pair site. A two-step pseudohydrolysis of DNA
TL;DR: The chemical nuclease Mn-TMPyP/KHSO 5 is able to hydroxylate 5' carbon-hydrogen bonds of deoxyribose units at three contiguous A-T base pairs sites and initiate DNA rupture and mechanism is reminiscent of DNA restriction enzymes but with 5'-OH and 3'-phosphate ends at the site of cleavage.
