Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image edge correction circuit that can properly correct edges independently of the amplitude of a source video signal. SOLUTION: An analog/digital converter 1 converts a received NTSC system analog composite video signal into a digital video signal. An edge detection circuit 2 detects an edge of image from the digital video signal. A change amount detection circuit 3 detects a displacement between pixels from a pixel arrangement configuring the edge and determines whether or not the pixel array has a displacement of a prescribed value α or over. A tilt detection circuit 5 detects a tilt (A) between a target pixel at an edge and a pixel to the left and a tilt (B) between the target pixel and a pixel to the right. A pixel value replacement circuit 6 conducts processing of making the target pixel coincident to the value of the left pixel when A B.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image processor includes an area setting means of setting an area including a pixel of interest, a luminance value derived means of finding luminance values of respective pixels, a primary derivative amount deriving means of deriving a first derivative amount of the luminances values derived by the luminance derived means as to a plurality of pixel arrays, edge direction decision means of deciding an edge direction of luminance at the position of the pixels of interest based upon the result of the first- derivative amount, a range determining means of determining a target pixel array range of pixel value
