Abstract: A hepatite B constitui grave problema de saude publica.

Seroprevalence of HBsAg and its risk factors amoung pregnant women in Jimma, Southwest Ethiopia
TL;DR: The prevalence of HBsAg carrier state in the study area was significant enough to start routine antenatal screening for HBs Ag, and known risk factors included in this study were not associated with Hepatitis B virus infection.

Analysis of fractional-order models for hepatitis B
TL;DR: In this article, two models for hepatitis B, given by fractional differential equations, are presented, one without parameters that indicate drug therapy, while the second one considers the drug therapy.
Advances in the treatment of hepatitis B
TL;DR: The development of more potent antiviral drugs as well as new drug combinations, together with a better understanding of hepatitis B virus resistance mechanisms are important milestones to improve treatment efficacy and to diminish, in the future, the global burden of hepatitisB virus.

Current therapeutic trends in therapy for chronic viral hepatitis : Molecular biology, pathogenesis and clinics
TL;DR: In this paper, the combination of ribavirin and corticosteroid priming has been shown to increase the efficacy of IFN therapy in HBV patients with low abnormal serum transaminase levels, but only a few responders will clear serum hepatitis Bs antigen.

Diagnosis and Treatment of the Major Hepatotropic Viruses
TL;DR: Further study of the hepatotropic viruses at the molecular biologic, epidemiologic, and clinical levels will continue to provide greater insight into the diagnosis and management of their associated clinical syndromes.

TL;DR: TheHBeAgstatus ofblood samples with levels ofHBV DNA asdetected by three hybridization assays and thePCR test is compared to indicate hepatitis Bvirus (HBV)infection, butthedetection ofHBsAg does not provide information on thereplicative activity of the virus.

A pilot study of the CY-1899 T-cell vaccine in subjects chronically infected with hepatitis B virus
Jenny Heathcote,John G. McHutchison,Samuel Lee,Myron J. Tong,Kent G. Benner,Gerald Y. Minuk,Teresa L. Wright,John Fikes,Brian D. Livingston,Alex Sette,Robert Chestnut +10 more
TL;DR: Administration of the single‐epitope vaccine, CY‐1899, initiated CTL activity, but of a magnitude lower than that observed during spontaneous HBV clearance, and this low‐level C TL activity was not associated with viral clearance.
Precore mutant hepatitis B virus infection and liver disease
Nikolai V. Naoumov,Ralf Schneider,Thilo Grötzinger,Maria C. Jung,Stefan Miska,Gerd R. Pape,Hans Will +6 more
TL;DR: Data indicate a high prevalence of precore mutant viruses in anti-e carriers with chronic liver disease and suggest that monitoring of virus sequence type and DNA level may be of prognostic value for liver disease sequelae.
