Abstract: Diagnosis is an algorithm for finding and isolating faults in a dynamic system In 1994, California designated some regulations which were called OBD II According to these regulations, there is a system installed in an automobile which can analyze the function of the automobile continuously The decrease of pollution for the expansion of diagnostic system is necessary in the future To reach the aims of diagnosis, some redundancies are required in the system, either hardware or soft ware In the hardware redundancy methods, the installation of additional sensors or actuators on the system is required which is costly and takes up a lot of space, whereas in software redundancy methods, this is done with no expense In this article, one of the software redundancy methods or analytical methods is implied for solving the problem At first a discussion on literature survey is mentioned, and then a modified mathematical model for SI engine is acquired The usage of this method and parity space relations, which is a model based method, accomplished the process of diagnosis Developing a modified SI engine model and diagnosis of MAT sensor which less has been considered besides other components are this article contributions

A review of aircraft environmental control system simulation and diagnostics
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present a comprehensive review of the simulation and diagnostic methodologies applicable to fault diagnostics of the ECS PACK, and suggest that there is a compelling need for a verified and validated ECS simulation model to enable accurate PACK system-level diagnostics based on single and multiple component level degradation scenarios.

Paper: A survey of design methods for failure detection in dynamic systems
TL;DR: This paper surveys a number of methods for the detection of abrupt changes in stochastic dynamical systems, focusing on the class of linear systems, but the basic concepts carry over to other classes of systems.

A survey of design methods for failure detection in dynamic systems

- 01 Jan 1975
TL;DR: A number of methods for detecting abrupt changes (such as failures) in stochastic dynamical systems are surveyed in this paper, where tradeoffs in complexity versus performance are discussed, ranging from the design of specific failure-sensitive filters, to the use of statistical tests on filter innovations, and the development of jump process formulations.

Robust fault detection using eigenstructure assignment: a tutorial consideration and some new results
Ron J. Patton,Jie Chen +1 more
- 11 Dec 1991
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed the use of right eigenvector assignment of observers, which gives more freedom for achieving disturbance decoupling, and showed that the resulting deadbeat design is equivalent to the first-order parity space structure for residual generation.
