Two-photon excitation with finite pulses unlocks pure dephasing-induced degradation of entangled photons emitted by quantum dots
Tim Seidelmann,T. K. Bracht,Barbara Lehner,Christian Schimpf,Michael Cosacchi,Moritz Cygorek,Alexei Vagov,Armando Rastelli,Doris E. Reiter,Vollrath M. Axt +9 more
TL;DR: In this article , the combined impact of two-photon excitation and longitudinal acoustic phonons on photon pairs emitted by strongly-confining quantum dots is investigated, and it is shown that phonons further reduce the achievable degree of entanglement even in the limit of vanishing temperature due to phonon-induced pure dephasing and phononassisted one-phone processes, which increase the reexcitation probability.

Frequency Shifting a Single Photon by Electro-Optic Modulation
Michael Kobierski
- 21 Jan 2020
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed the first demonstration of slowing the frequency of single photons in a stream by using an electro-optical rotating half-wave plate prototype, which can be used for any quantum dot and is completely nonintrusive.
Time-dependent switching of the photon entanglement type using a driven quantum emitter-cavity system
Tim Seidelmann,Doris E. Reiter,Michael Cosacchi,Moritz Cygorek,A. Vagov,A. Vagov,Vollrath M. Axt +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a protocol for time-dependent entanglement switching in a four-level quantum emitter-cavity system that can be operated by changing the external driving strength.

Entanglement of Formation of an Arbitrary State of Two Qubits
TL;DR: In this article, an explicit formula for the entanglement of formation of a pair of binary quantum objects (qubits) as a function of their density matrix was conjectured.

Measurement of qubits
Daniel F. V. James,Paul G. Kwiat,Paul G. Kwiat,William J. Munro,William J. Munro,Andrew White,Andrew White +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the theory underpinning the measurement of density matrices of a pair of quantum two-level systems is described, and a detailed error analysis is presented, allowing errors in quantities derived from the density matrix, such as the entropy or entanglement of formation.

TL;DR: In this article, a single photon with near-unity indistinguishability was generated from quantum dots in electrically controlled cavity structures, which allowed for efficient photon collection while application of an electrical bias cancels charge noise effects.

Regulated and Entangled Photons from a Single Quantum Dot
TL;DR: It is proposed that this semiconductor device uses a single quantum dot as active medium embedded in a p- i- n junction and surrounded by a microcavity has the unique potential to generate pairs of entangled photons at a well-defined repetition rate.
Charge noise and spin noise in a semiconductor quantum device
Andreas V. Kuhlmann,Julien Houel,Arne Ludwig,Arne Ludwig,Lukas Greuter,Dirk Reuter,Dirk Reuter,Andreas D. Wieck,Martino Poggio,Richard J. Warburton +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used resonance fluorescence from a single quantum dot to distinguish between charge noise and spin noise through a crucial difference in their optical signatures, enabling a better understanding of how to minimize their influence.
