TL;DR: SFOH effectively managed serum phosphorus in pediatric patients with a low pill burden and a safety profile consistent with that reported in adult patients.
Strong Correlation of Renal Function with Choroidal Thickness in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study.
Min Gyu Choi,Jee Taek Kim +1 more
TL;DR: The choroidal thickness of treatment-naïve PDR patients is closely affected by renal function, andKidney function test should be considered if SFChT of patients withtreatment-naive PDR is reduced.

A study of the P2X7 purinoceptor and vascular ATP metabolic pathways in chronic kidney disease-associated arterial calcification
RS Fish
- 28 Dec 2014
TL;DR: P2X7R does not appear to contribute to the pathogenesis of CKD-associated AC, although this should be confirmed in experimental models which more closely simulate human disease, as well as preliminary work to examine the expression of components of the ATP-metabolising system in this clinical setting.

The Bone Histology Spectrum in Experimental Renal Failure: Adverse Effects of Phosphate and Parathyroid Hormone
D. G. Batista,V. Jorgetti +1 more
- 01 Jan 2010
TL;DR: In this article, the isolated effects that phosphate and parathyroid hormone (PTH) have on bone tissue in rats were determined, and the results indicated that the management of uremia requires proper control of die- tary phosphate, together with PTH adjustment, in order to ensure adequate bone remodeling.

Management of mineral and bone disorder in chronic kidney disease: quo vadis?
TL;DR: With a view to improving patient‐level outcomes, further work should establish more precisely the role of calcimimetics and vitamin D analogs in combination with other therapeutic approaches for CKD‐MBD management.

TL;DR: A committee of the Society to develop a unified system of termnology, suitable for adoption by the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research as part of its Instructions to Authors is formed, and is as complex and conceptually difficult as the field with which it deals.

TL;DR: A survey and conference was conducted and a controversies conference was sponsored to provide a clear understanding to both the nephrology and nonnephrology communities of the evidence base for the definition and classification recommended by Kidney Disease Quality Outcome Initiative (K/DOQI).

Arterial media calcification in end-stage renal disease: impact on all-cause and cardiovascular mortality
Gérard M. London,Alain P. Guerin,Sylvain J. Marchais,Fabien Metivier,Bruno Pannier,Hasan Adda +5 more
TL;DR: AMC is a strong prognostic marker of all-cause and CV mortality in HD patients, independently of classical atherogenic factors and the principal effect of AMC on arterial function is increased arterial stiffness.
