TL;DR: In this article, an Internet-based marketplace is provided for animals, gametes and embryos wherein a database retains specific genetic identifiers correlated to the animals, embryos and gamets, and a method, an apparatus, a server and a client are provided that allow a remote user to submit a query on one or more genetic identifiers to a centralized database located on the server for the purpose of allowing a user to identify matching stock, to certify stock such as to reduce fraud, to report lost or found stock, and to trade stock by either fixed priced selling or auction.
