Data structure converting device

Abstract: PURPOSE: To perform the parallel conversion of data structures in plural bits and to ensure the effective conversion of data of a large scale by using a parallel-serial memory conversion system which converts an image data string consisting of one picture element and (n) bits into N pieces of element plates consisting of one bit respectively and vice versa in terms of the data structure. CONSTITUTION: Control information used for conversion of the image data of 1-picture element/4-bit length into four sheets of bit plates is set at a data structure conversion processing control register 101 via a data bus 1. Then the control information is received by a data structure conversion processing control part 102 and this part 102 functions as a finite state machine. Then the image data is inputted to a horizontal data register 103 via the bus 1 in the form of a 4-bit picture element string. A multiplexer group or a barrel shifter 104 shifts to the right and a horizontal address is written in a serial/ parallel memory 106 via a horizontal address control part 107. Then the part 102 writes a vertical address in the memory 106 via a vertical address control part 108. Thus the data of the 4-bit picture element length is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
