Abstract: A computer receives, at a target node, a replication target update, wherein the replication target update comprises a write frequency of a replication target and a size of the replication target. The computer creates a replication task to perform replication based upon the replication target update. The computer calculates a priority value of the replication task wherein the priority value is based upon the write frequency of the replication target and the size of the replication target. The computer inserts the replication task into a priority queue. The computer processes the replication task.

Optimization of in-memory processing of data represented by an acyclic graph so that the removal and re-materialization of data in selected nodes is minimized
Houlemarde Lou R
- 13 Apr 2021
TL;DR: In this article, a network of data processing nodes is configured for in-memory data processing, where each data processing node includes a flag having a state that controls storage persistence of the result data in the memory of the respective node.

Storage of Data In A Distributed Storage System
Alexandre Drobychev,Alexander Kesselman,Rebekah C. Vickrey,Frank Dachille,George Datuashvili +4 more
- 08 Feb 2011
TL;DR: A distributed storage system has multiple instances, and at least some of the local instances are at physically distinct geographic locations as discussed by the authors, where each local instance stores metadata for the respective set of blobs in a metadata store distinct from the data stores.
