Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently store and retrieve compression data by obtaining loss coded data and no-loss coded data, including no-loss coded residual data. SOLUTION: A computing system 100 includes a central arithmetic processing unit 102, a main storage device 104, and a storage system 106. Lattice data representing an image are received, and a wavelet coefficient is generated. Some sub-bands (part of the image) are produced by discrete wavelet transformation. Each of the sub-bands is coded to bring loss compression display of the sub-band. Remaining data produced from the arithmetic operation are subjected to no loss coding, and compression remaining lattice data are obtained. The no-loss compression residual lattice data and the loss compression sub-band configure the no-loss compression data of the original image. The no-loss compression data are stored in the storage system 106.
