Abstract: Examines current problems of coupling to shielded cables, providing a working reference for engineers and designers of signal transmission and power lines. Using a transmission line analysis, it examines the shield transfer impedance and transfer admittance characteristics of commonly used shields--the most comprehensive collection of such data ever published. Relates shielding properties to weave characteristics of braided-wire shields. Includes tables and normalized graphs for the most commonly encountered cases of interference.

On the direct calculation of a transient plane wave reflected from a finitely conducting half space
P.R. Barnes,F.M. Tesche +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an approach to the computation of the electromagnetic field reflected from a lossy half-space directly in the time domain is discussed, which requires first evaluating the impulse response of the halfspace and then convolving it with the specified incident field waveform.

A SPICE model for multiconductor transmission lines excited by an incident electromagnetic field
TL;DR: In this article, a SPICE model was proposed for predicting the time-domain or frequency-domain voltages and currents induced at the terminations of a multiconductor transmission line (MTL) by an incident electromagnetic held.

Simulation models of a dissipative transmission line above a lossy ground for a wide-frequency range. I. Single conductor configuration
TL;DR: In this paper, the simulation model of a multiconductor dissipative line above a lossy ground, based on the exact formulation of the Maxwell equations, is proposed for a wide frequency range.

Fast and Rigorous Analysis of EMC/EMI Phenomena on Electrically Large and Complex Cable-Loaded Structures
TL;DR: In this article, a fast and comprehensive time-domain method for analyzing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) phenomena on complex structures that involve electrically large platforms (e.g., vehicle shells) along with cable-interconnected antennas, shielding enclosures, and printed circuit boards is proposed.
