New developments for the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of potent SARS-CoV 3CLpro inhibitors
Thomas Regnier,Diganta Sarma,Koushi Hidaka,Usman Bacha,Ernesto Freire,Yoshio Hayashi,Yoshio Hayashi,Yoshiaki Kiso +7 more
TL;DR: A series of trifluoromethyl, benzothiazolyl or thiazolyL ketone-containing peptidic compounds as SARS-CoV 3CL protease inhibitors were developed and their potency was evaluated by in vitro protease inhibitory assays.

Monitoring the SARS Epidemic in China: A Time Series Analysis
TL;DR: In this article, three types of time series analysis methods were used in modeling and forecasting the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic in mainland China, including Box-Jenkins model, autoregressive model with order 1 (AR(1), random walk (ARIMA(0,1,0)) model on the log transformed daily reported SARS cases and the third one was a combination of growth curve fitting and auto-gressive moving average model, ARMA(1,1).

Synthesis, biological evaluation and molecular modeling of a novel series of fused 1,2,3-triazoles as potential anti-coronavirus agents
Konstantina Karypidou,Sergio R. Ribone,Mario Alfredo Quevedo,Leentje Persoons,Christophe Pannecouque,Christine Helsen,Frank Claessens,Wim Dehaen +7 more
TL;DR: Synthesis and biological evaluation of a novel library of fused 1,2,3-triazole derivatives showed promising antiviral properties, and in silico studies identified the key molecular interactions between those compounds and the 3-chymotrypsin-like protease, supporting the hypothesis that the protease is the target molecule of the potential antiviral derivatives.

Single-dose intranasal administration with mDEF201 (adenovirus vectored mouse interferon-alpha) confers protection from mortality in a lethal SARS-CoV BALB/c mouse model
Yohichi Kumaki,Jane Ennis,Ramtin Rahbar,Jeffrey D. Turner,Miles K. Wandersee,Aaron J. Smith,Kevin W. Bailey,Zachary Vest,Jason R. Madsen,Joseph K.-K. Li,Dale L. Barnard +10 more
TL;DR: The use of an adenovirus vectored mouse IFN alpha gene (mDEF201) as a prophylactic and treatment countermeasure in a SARS-CoV-infected BALB/c mouse model is described and the data suggest that mDEF201 is a new class of antiviral agent further development as treatment for SARS -CoV infections.
