Abstract: : The Declaration on the Cooperative Identity, promulgated by the International Cooperative Alliance, at the Manchester Congress, in 1995, presented the concept of cooperative society, the cooperative values and principles, as core elements of the cooperative identity. Despite this, the new Basque Country Cooperatives Law is edited without enhancing the sense of identity of the cooperatives. In this sense, despite making a simple mention of cooperative values and principles, it guides the use of cooperative values and principles in the context of educational programs, at all levels, in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
