Combinatorics, Automata and Number Theory
Valrie Berth,Michel Rigo +1 more
- 30 Sep 2010
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present recent trends arising from the fruitful interaction between the themes of combinatorics on words, automata and formal language theory, and number theory and reveal some of the exciting and important relationships that exist between these different fields.
An analysis of the Gaussian algorithm for lattice reduction
Hervé Daudé,Philippe Flajolet,Brigitte Vallée +2 more
- 06 May 1994
TL;DR: The Gaussian algorithm for lattice reduction in dimension 2 is analysed and it is found that, when applied to random inputs, the complexity is asymptotically constant, the probability distribution decays geometrically, and the dynamics is characterized by a conditional invariant measure.
On the local discrepancy of (nα)-sequences
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the order of magnitude of the local discrepancy is bounded in the case x n = { n α }, when α denotes an irrational real number and { y } is the fractional part of the real number y.

Finite and infinite ergodic theory for linear and conformal dynamical systems
Sara Munday
- 30 Nov 2011
TL;DR: In this paper, two families of piecewise linear maps on the unit interval, the α-Luroth and α-Farey maps, have been studied and their properties have been investigated.

Some distribution results of the Oppenheim continued fractions
Yuanyang Chang,Ji-Hua Ma +1 more
TL;DR: A Gauss-Kuzmin-Levy type theorem for the Oppenheim continued fraction expansion was established in this article, and a Frechet law concerning the partial maxima of the growth rate of the digit sequence was derived.
