Abstract: This review describes recent developments in the field of conductive nanomaterials and their application in 2D and 3D printed flexible electronics, with particular emphasis on inks based on metal nanoparticles and nanowires, carbon nanotubes, and graphene sheets. We present the basic properties of these nanomaterials, their stabilization in dispersions, formulation of conductive inks and formation of conductive patterns on flexible substrates (polymers, paper, textile) by using various printing technologies and post-printing processes. Applications of conductive nanomaterials for fabrication of various 2D and 3D electronic devices are also briefly discussed.

TL;DR: Sintering of printed metal nanoparticle patterns using single and dual methods for flexible electronics application. Single and dual sintering methods are explored for the sintering of printed metal NP patterns on flexible polyimide substrates. Dual sintering methods are more effective in improving electrical conductivity and mechanical properties.

The rise of graphene
TL;DR: Owing to its unusual electronic spectrum, graphene has led to the emergence of a new paradigm of 'relativistic' condensed-matter physics, where quantum relativistic phenomena can now be mimicked and tested in table-top experiments.

TL;DR: The roll-to-roll production and wet-chemical doping of predominantly monolayer 30-inch graphene films grown by chemical vapour deposition onto flexible copper substrates are reported, showing high quality and sheet resistances superior to commercial transparent electrodes such as indium tin oxides.
Graphene photonics and optoelectronics
TL;DR: Graphene has high mobility and optical transparency, in addition to flexibility, robustness and environmental stability as discussed by the authors, and its true potential lies in photonics and optoelectronics, where the combination of its unique optical and electronic properties can be fully exploited, even in the absence of a bandgap, and the linear dispersion of the Dirac electrons enables ultrawideband tunability.
