Abstract: Aim: The aim of the study was to check the effectiveness of both Robert Azzi and Han and Takei technique in reconstructing the lost interdental papilla between maxillary central incisors. It also compared the two techniques. Materials and Methods: Fourteen systemically healthy patients fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected for the study. The clinical parameters were evaluated at baseline, 6 months and 12 months postsurgically. Results: The results showed that there was a statistical significant improvement in both papilla presence index score and papillary height in both the groups from baseline but on comparison, no technique was superior to the other. Conclusion: Both the techniques were equally good in reconstructing the interdental papilla. And no technique was superior to the other. Clinical Relevance to Interdisciplinary Dentistry An open gingival embrasure or black triangle occurs as a result of a deficiency of papilla beneath the contact point. The treatment of open embrasures may require restorative, orthodontic and periodontal considerations depending on the underlying etiology. Treatment of open embrasures requires an interdisciplinary approach of orthodontic, periodontic, and restorative treatment. Open gingival embrasures have complex esthetic and functional problems. An interdisciplinary team approach with the general dentist, orthodontist, and periodontist is critical.

The Use of Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin As an Alternative Treatment for Interdental Papilla Reconstruction in Black Triangle Case
Nastiti Mayangjati,Surya Hapsari,Fawzan Nur Ramadhan,Vincensia Maria Karina +3 more
- 29 Feb 2024
TL;DR: This study explores the use of injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin (i-PRF) as a non-surgical alternative for interdental papilla reconstruction in black triangle cases, demonstrating its effectiveness in accelerating cell proliferation and promoting tissue regeneration.
Evaluation of advanced platelet-rich fibrin compared to subepithelial connective tissue graft in the surgical management of interdental papilla recession: a randomized controlled trial
Sanabel O Barakat,Omnia K Tawfik,Samar El Kholy,Hani ElNahass +3 more
TL;DR: Both CTG and A-PRF were found to be equally effective in increasing deficient IDP height with Han and Takei’s surgical technique, with no significant difference.

Regeneration of gingival papillae after single-implant treatment.
TL;DR: The general conclusion was made that the proposed index allows scientific assessment of soft tissue contour adjacent to single-implant restorations and indicated that soft tissue changed in a systematic manner during the time period between insertion of the crowns and follow-up 1 to 3 years later.

Surgical reconstruction of the interdental papilla: case report.
TL;DR: A case report is presented to demonstrate a technique by which a collapsed interdental papilla can be surgically reconstructed, which combines principles of Abram's roll technique for ridge augmentation with Evian's papilla preservation technique.

Minimally Invasive Treatment for Papillae Deficiencies in the Esthetic Zone: A Pilot Study
TL;DR: Results from this pilot study are encouraging and present evidence that small papillary deficiencies between implants and teeth can be enhanced by injection of a hyaluronic gel.
