Abstract: Although the development of procedures for experimental research and the implementation of the design often appear to be simple and straightforward projects, the steps involved are far more time-consuming and complicated than one may expect. This chapter discusses some of the common problems encountered when conducting laboratory research, including bias in experimental manipulations, possible contamination, issues with using and training confederates, recruiting and scheduling subjects, video recording, managing time, and maintaining records. We offer suggestions and a “hands-on” approach to setting up and running an experiment primarily in university settings using undergraduate subjects.

Social categorization and intergroup behaviour
TL;DR: In the second series of experiments, it was found that the maximum joint profit independent of group membership did not affect significantly the manner in which the subjects divided real pecuniary rewards; however, maximum profit for own group did affect the distribution of rewards; and the clearest effect on the subject's attempt to achieve a maximum difference between the ingroup and the outgroup even at the price of sacrificing other "objective" advantages.

On the social psychology of the psychological experiment: With particular reference to demand characteristics and their implications.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on some of the qualities peculiar to psychological experiments and point out that the demand characteristics perceived in any particular experiment will vary with the sophistication, intelligence, and previous experience of each experimental subject.
